Psalm 29

1 A Psalm of David. <span class=|reftext|><a href=|#|><b>1</b></a> Ascribe to YHWH, O sons of the mighty ones. Ascribe to YHWH glory and strength.

2 Ascribe to YHWH the glory of His name; bow down before YHWH in the splendor of holiness.

3 The voice of YHWH [is] upon the waters; the God of glory thunders—YHWH [is] over many waters.

4 The voice of YHWH [is] with power, the voice of YHWH [is] with majesty.

5 The voice of YHWH breaks the cedars, and YHWH shatters the cedars of Lebanon.

6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like the son of a wild ox.

7 The voice of YHWH is hewing flames of fire.

8 The voice of YHWH causes the wilderness to writhe; YHWH causes the wilderness of Kadesh to writhe.

9 The voice of YHWH twists the oaks, and strips bare the forests—and in His temple all of it is saying, “Glory!”

10 YHWH has sat over the flood, and YHWH sits as King forever.

11 YHWH gives strength to His people; YHWH blesses His people with peace.
