Psalm 76

For the one directing. On stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song. 1 In Judah God is known, in Israel His name [is] great.

And His tent is in Salem, and his dwelling place in Zion.

There he has shattered the arrows of the bow—the shield and sword and weapon of war. Selah

luminous are You and majestic, from the mountains of prey.

They became plunder, the mighty of heart; they have slept their sleep, and the men of might could not find any of their hands.

At Your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the rider and horse are lain asleep.

You are to be feared—You! And who can stand before Your face at the time of Your anger?

From the heavens You have sounded the judgment; the earth has feared and has been still,

at the rising of God to the judgment, to bring salvation [to] all the lowly ones of the earth. Selah

for the wrath of man shall praise You; with the remainder of wrath You gird Yourself.

Make vows to YHWH your⁺ God, and fulfill [them]; let all around Him bring tribute to the Fearsome One.

He takes away the spirit of princes; He is feared by the kings of the earth.
