Psalm 48

A song. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. 1 Great [is] YHWH, and greatly to be praised, in the city of our God, the mountain of His holiness.

Beautiful [in] elevation, the joy of all the earth, like the peaks of Zaphon [is] Mount Zion, the city of the great King.

God [is] in her citadels, known as a secure height.

For behold, the kings assembled; they passed over together.

They saw, so they were astonished; they were in dismay, and they hurried away.

Trembling took hold of them there, [and] writhing like a woman in labor.

With a wind of the east you broke apart the ships of Tarshish.

According to what we have heard, so we have seen, in the city of YHWH of Hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish her even to forever! Selah

we have reflected, O God, [on] Your loving devotion, within Your temple.

According to Your name, O God, so Your praise [is] unto the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.

Let Mount Zion be glad; let the daughters of Judah rejoice, on account of Your judgments!

Go around Zion and encircle her, [and] count her towers.

Set your⁺ heart toward her bulwark, pass between her citadels, so that you⁺ may recount [it] to the following generation.

For this [is] God, Our God, forever and ever! He will lead us over death.
