Psalm 106

Hallelujah! Give thanks to YHWH for [He is] good, for His loving devotion [is] forever!

Who can describe the mighty acts of YHWH? Who can sound all His praise?

Blessed [are] those guarding justice, doing righteousness at every time.

Remember me, O YHWH, in favor [to] Your people; attend to me with Your salvation,

to look on the prosperity of Your chosen ones, [and] to be glad in the gladness of Your nation, [and] to glory with Your inheritance.

We have sinned, with our fathers; we have been perverse; we have acted wickedly.

Our fathers in Egypt did not consider Your wonders; they did not remember the abundance of Your kindness; and they rebelled by the sea—at the Sea of Reeds.

And He saved them for the sake of His name, to make known His might.

And He rebuked the Sea of Reeds, and it dried up, and He made them walk through the depths as through a desert.

And He saved them from the hand of the one hating, and He redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

For the waters covered their enemies; not one of them remained.

And they had faith in His words; they sang His praise.

They were quick to forget His works; they have not wait for His counsel;

and they craved with desire in the wilderness, and they tested God in the desert.

And He gave to them their request, and He sent leanness upon their soul.

And they were jealous of Moses in the camp, of Aaron, the holy one of YHWH.

The earth opened up and swallowed Dathan, and it covered over the company of Abiram.

And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame consumed the wicked.

They made a calf in Horeb, and they bowed down to a molten image.

And they exchanged their Glory for the image of an ox eating grass.

They forgot God their Savior, the One having done great [things] in Egypt,

wonders in the land of Ham, fearful [things] by the Sea of Reeds.

And he said he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen one stood in the breach before His face, to turn away His fury from destroying them.

Then they despised the land of the desire; they were not faithful to His word,

and they grumbled in their tents; they did not listen to the voice of YHWH.

And He lifted up His hand against them to make them fall in the desert,

and to make their seed fall among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.

They even joined themselves [to] Baal-Peor, and they ate sacrifices to the dead.

And they provoked [Him] to anger with their deeds, and a plague broke out among them.

And Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was restrained.

And it was reckoned to him as righteousness, to generation and generation, even to forever.

And they caused wrath at the waters of Meribah, and it was evil to Moses on account of them.

For they rebelled against his spirit, and he spoke rashly with his lips.

They did not destroy the peoples whom YHWH had given to them the order.

And they mingled with the nations, and they learned their works.

And they served their idols, and they were to them as a snare.

And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons;

and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with the blood.

And they were defiled by their deeds and prostituted themselves by their practices.

And the anger of YHWH was kindled against His people, and He came to abhor His inheritance.

And He gave them into the hand of the nations, and those hating them ruled over them.

And their enemies oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand.

Many times He delivered them, and they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their iniquity.

And He looked on the distress to them in His hearing their cry.

And He remembered unto them His covenant, and He relented by the abundance of His loving devotion.

And He appointed them for mercies before the face of all their captors.

Save us, O YHWH our God, and gather us from the nations, to give thanks to the name of Your holiness, to glory in Your praise!

Blessed [be] YHWH the God of Israel from forever and even to forever. And let all the people say, “Amen!” Praise YAH!
