Revelation 12

1 And a great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars,

2 and having in womb. And she cries out, being in labor, and being in pain to bring forth.

3 And another sign was seen in heaven, and behold, a great fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his heads seven diadems.

4 And his tail drags a third of the stars of heaven, and he cast them to the earth. And the dragon stands before the woman being about to bring forth, so that when she should bring forth, he might devour her child.

5 And she brought forth a son, a male, who is about to shepherd all the nations with a rod of iron; and her child was caught up to God and to His throne.

6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place having been prepared there from God, so that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels warred against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels warred [back].

8 And he did not have strength, nor was found their place any longer in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was thrown [out], the ancient serpent who is called the Devil and Satan, deceiving the whole world. He was thrown to the earth, and his angels were thrown with him.

10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers was cast down, the one accusing them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their life unto death.

12 Because of this, rejoice O heavens, and those dwelling in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil came down to you⁺, having great fury, knowing that he has a short time.”

13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he pursued the woman who brought forth the male [child].

14 And the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, so that she may fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished there a time, and times, and half a time, away from the face of the serpent.

15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a river after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.

16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon cast out of his mouth.

17 And the dragon was angry over the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commandments of God and having the testimony of Jesus. And he stood upon the sand of the sea.
