Jeremiah 45

The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch son of Neriah, in his writing these words upon a scroll from the mouth of Jeremiah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, saying:

“Thus says YHWH, the God of Israel, to you, O Baruch:

You have said, ‘Woe now to me! For YHWH has added sorrow to my pain! I grow weary in my sighing, I do not find rest.’”

Thus you will say to him, “Thus says YHWH: Behold, what I have built I am breaking down, and what I have planted I am plucking up—even all the land itself.

And do you seek for yourself great things? Do not seek [them]. For behold, I am going to bring disaster upon all flesh, a declaration of YHWH, and I will give to you your soul as a prize, in all the places to which you go there.”
