Psalm 71
In You, O YHWH, I take refuge; let me not be put to shame forever!
In Your righteousness, deliver me and cause me to escape; incline to me Your ear, and save me!
May You be to me as a rock, a habitation, to go in continually; You have given a command to save me, for You [are] my rock and my fortress.
O My God, rescue me from the hand of a wicked one, from the palm of the one acting unjustly and pressing.
For You [are] my hope, O Lord YHWH, my trust from my youth.
By You I have been supported from the womb; from the bowels of my mother You cut me out. My praise [is] continually for You.
I have been as a wonder to many, and You [are] my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled [with] Your praise, [with] Your splendor all the day.
Do not cast me off in the time of old age; according to the consumption of my strength do not forsake me.
For my enemies speak against me, and those watching my soul take counsel together,
saying, “God has forsaken him. Pursue him and seize him, for [there is] none to deliver [him]!”
O God, do not be far from me; O my God, hurry to [be] my help!
Let them be put to shame [and] consumed, those opposing my soul; let them be covered [with] scorn and disgrace, those seeking my harm!
But I continually will hope, and I will add upon all Your praise.
My mouth will recount Your righteousness, all the day Your salvation, though I do not know the numbers.
I will come in the might of the Lord YHWH; I will cause Your righteousness to be remembered—Yours alone.
O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until now I declare Your wonders.
Indeed, when [I am] old and grayheaded, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare Your arm to a generation, Your strength to everyone to come.
And Your righteousness, O God, [is] to the height! [You] who have done great things, O God—who [is] like You?
Though You have made me see many troubles and distresses, You will return [and] revive us; even from the depths of the earth, You will return [and] bring me up.
You will increase my honor, and surrounding [me], You will comfort me.
I will also praise You with the harp [for] Your faithfulness, O my God; I will make music to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel!
My lips will shout for joy when when I sing praises to You, even my soul, which You have redeemed.
My tongue will also utter Your righteousness all the day, for they have been put to shame, for they are humiliated—those seeking my harm.
