Psalm 5

For the one directing. With the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. <span class=|reftext|><a href=|#|><b>1</b></a> Give ear to my words, O YHWH; have regard [for] my murmuring.

Be attentive to the voice of my cry, O my King and my God, for to You I pray.

O YHWH, in the morning You hear my voice; in the morning I direct [it] to You, and I keep watch.

For You [are] not a God delighting in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with You.

The one boasting shall not stand in Your sight; You hate all workers of iniquity.

You will destroy those speaking falsehood; a man of blood and deceit YHWH abhors.

But I, in the abundance of Your loving devotion, will come into Your house; I will bow down toward the temple of Your Holiness in fear of You.

O YHWH, guide me in Your righteousness, on account of my enemies; make straight Your path before my face.

For there is no firmness in his mouth; within them is destruction; their throat [is] a grave being wide open; they make their tongue smooth.

Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own devices; in the abundance of their transgressions drive them away, for they have rebelled against You.

And let all those taking refuge in You rejoice forever; let them shout for joy, and may You cover them over; and let those loving Your name exult in You.

For You will bless the righteous one, O YHWH; as a shield You will surround him with favor.
