Psalm 144
Of David. 1 Blessed [be] YHWH, my Rock, the One training my hands for war, my fingers for battle—
my steadfast One and my fortress, my tower and my deliverer—for me; my shield in whom I take refuge, the One subduing the peoples under me.
O YHWH, what [is] man that You take knowledge of him, the son of man that You think of him?
Man is like a breath; his days [are] like a shadow passing by.
O YHWH, bend Your heavens and come down! Touch the mountains, that they may smoke!
Flash lightning and scatter them; send forth Your arrows and rout them!
Stretch out Your hand from on high; release me and deliver me from the great waters, from the hand of sons of a foreigner,
whose mouth has spoken emptiness, and their right hand [is] a right hand of falsehood.
O God, let me sing a new song to You; on a harp of ten strings I will make music to You—
the One giving salvation to kings, the One releasing David His servant from the sword of evil.
May You release me and snatch me from the hand of the sons of a foreigner, whose mouth speaks emptiness, and their right hand [is] a right hand of deception.
That our sons [may be] as plants grown up in their youth, our daughters like corner pillars, carved [for] the pattern of the palace.
Our granaries full, bringing out from kind to kind, our flocks producing thousands, being myriads in our fields,
our oxen carrying. Let there be no breach, and no going forth, and no an outcry in our wide streets.
Blessed [are] the people for whom [is] thus; blessed [are] the people for whom YHWH [is] God!
