Psalm 132

A Song of the Ascents. O YHWH, 1 Remember for David, all his afflictions,

how he swore to YHWH [and] vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:

“If I enter into the tent of my house, or if go up on the couch of my bed,

I will not give sleep to my eyes, [and] slumber to my eyelids,

until I find a place for YHWH, [a] dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Behold, we have heard of it in Ephrathah, we have found it in the fields of Jaar.

Let us go into His dwelling place; let us worship at the stool of His feet!

Arise, O YHWH, to Your resting place—You and the ark of Your strength!

May Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and Your holy ones shout for joy!

For the sake of David Your servant, do not turn away the face of Your anointed one.

YHWH has sworn [in] truth of David; He will not turn back from it: “I will set one from the fruit of your belly on the throne of yours.

If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimonies that I teach them, their sons also, forever [and] ever, will sit on the throne of yours.”

For YHWH has set His choice on Zion; He has desired [it] as a seat for Himself:

“This [is] My resting place forever [and] ever; here I will sit, for I have desired it.

I will abundantly bless her provision, [and] her needy ones I will satisfy [with] bread;

and her priests I will clothe [with] salvation, and her godly ones will shout in joy.

There I will make to sprout a horn for David; I will arrange a lamp for My anointed one.

I will clothe his enemies with shame, and upon him his diadem will shine.”
