Psalm 120

1 A Song of the Ascents. <span class=|reftext|><a href=|#|><b>1</b></a> To YHWH, in the distress for me, I cried out, and He answered me.

2 O YHWH, deliver my soul from a lip of falsehood, from a tongue of deceit!

3 What will He give to you, or what will He add to you, O tongue of deceit?

4 The sharpened arrows of a mighty one, with the burning coals of broom trees!

5 Woe to me for I have sojourned [in] Mesech; I have dwelt among the tents of Kedar!

6 Too much has dwelt my soul with the one hating peace!

7 I [am] peace, and when I speak, they [are] for war.
